This year we were working on a week long meeting in Chicago when our client decided to choose Denver for their 2013 program. We immediate went to work making connections in downtown Denver and learning as much as we could about the area, venues, hotels, airport, etc. A few weeks later we boarded a plane and headed to the beautiful Mile High City to see for ourselves.
Each hotel we visited rolled out the red carpet. Breakfast and a tour, lunch and a tour, cocktails and a tour. Each property was better than the next, and we knew it would be a difficult decision in the end. We made notes, took photos, and were armed to make a recommendation when we returned.
We also spent time exploring the area. Where could they walk to? Where would they eat? Venues for night time events? Local attractions? These are all important to us when choosing a destination. A good venue with great food within walking distance of the hotel is always a huge plus, and wow did we find it here in Denver! Whether we were in the LoDo area, Larimer Square, or 16th Street Mall, each area was unique and full of everything from Starbucks to fine dining. It would not be hard to recommend countless spots to our client for their offsite portion of their meetings.
