We love to find new and exciting locations for our clients. We recently traveled to Huatulco, Mexico for a site visit. Huatulco is located on the Pacific Ocean in Oaxaca, Mexico. Although the airport and roads are a little rural, once you enter the area of Huatulco, you will find this a diamond in the rough. 36 pristine beaches, nine bays covering 56 miles of Southern Mexico.
The town of La Crucecita is amazing and almost like you stepped back in time. It was the way we imagine old world Mexico would look. The people were so friendly. The area absolutely safe with zero crime. We couldn’t resist the handmade crafts, freshly loomed linens, amazing black pottery, and we fell in love with the alebrijiles (tiny wooden characters). The town square in La Crucecita was so lively and fun. It was just an easy $6 cab ride from our hotel.
The start of our trip was at Dreams Huatulco. A family friendly property located on Tangolunda Bay. A resort with both leisure and activities for all age groups. Six restaurants were available, as well as, 24 hour room service. Our favorite was Portofino, the upscale, adult only Italian restaurant. The property was a bit older, but the rooms were comfortable and plenty spacious.
We took a spectacular sightseeing tour of Huatulco which took us to some breathtaking views of both the bays and the Sierra Madres. We made new friends, we took a lot of photos, and we found some great locations for future events. We ended up back in La Crucecita where we watched locals weave cloth, had a tequila tasting, visited local shops, and the beautiful La Crucecita Catholic church.
Finally, off to Secrets Huatulco, a brand new, adult only property located in spectacular Conejos Bay. This is simply a spectacular property with every room built with an oceanview. It is a property you never want to leave. The food, the people, the beach, the rooms, all first class. Secrets Huatulco is tops on the list for new places that we love.
